From Chefchaoun we will drive to Fez via Volubilis and Meknes After breakfast at the riad our authentic journey will start towards Volubilis crossing the Rif mountains via Ouazan and other Rif villages, in Volubilis we will discover the Roman ruins and learn about the archeological site of Moroccan history, after the visit of the ruins we will shift our way to Meknes city the 17th-century heritage where we will stop for lunch and hang around the historical huge walls of the medina, bab el Mansour and enjoy a visit of Moulay Ismail s shrine .after the visite of Meknes we will drive direct to Fes city where you will spend the night. Exploring Fes After breakfast in your riad, you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarter, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. We will ensure that you visit all sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, the Attarine museum and Mulay Idriss mausoleum.night in the same riad.
After breakfast in your riad, you’ll start traveling southeast to Merzouga via Midelt and Errachidia. Your first stop will be at Ifran, referred to as "the Switzerland of Morocco", and then to Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz Valley. During this journey, you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at the famous cedar forest - the largest in Morocco – where you may well sight Barbarian apes. You’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city Er Rachidia. After lunch in Midelt, your journey continues along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. We will drive through welcoming Berber villages to Erfoud, and then Rissani, the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty - the current ruling royal family in Morocco. Arriving in Merzouga at the end of the day, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check in to your hotel nomad palace.
After breakfast in the riad, you will start an explorative journey of the area. You’ll visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. After that, we will drive in a desert area where you will have the opportunity to meet the nomad families still living in Berber tents and explore their way of life. Today our lunch will be a local meal ( Berber pizza ) with a local family. In the afternoon you will start your guided camel ride, led by an experienced camel man to explore within the sand sea of Merzouga. Overnight at our desert camp where you will have your dinner.
After your breakfast, you will have a chance to visit one of the local markets in morocco in a small city call Rissani before we drive to Erfoud to visit the fabrication of the fossils the back to a desert evening free. a night well be in a small riad bed breakfast and dinner.
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes then take back to Merzouga. Then start the drive to Erfoud, you set out behind the High Atlas Mountains pass nomad people and you will take a walk-up in the towering Todra Gorges (600 feet high). The picturesque river valleys make for a beautiful journey towards the southeast of Morocco. Then continue your journey towards another impressive Dades valley, we will drop in riad Tazawa.
After breakfast in the hotel, you will travel through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand Kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. Today you will have the opportunity to hike for a few hours if you like. you will enjoy the fertile Rose valley and the rock formations along the way. We’ll stop at Kalaat M’gouna, “the rose city”, to purchase the rosewater, which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is over. Continuing on to Skoura and the birds' valley, you’ll visit the Kasbah Ameridil, we continue to Ouarzazate -“the Hollywood of Africa”- whose geography and beautiful landscapes have attracted many world-class movie producers.
After our breakfast, we start our journey driving to Marrakech via Roses valley it is where roses festival is held every May of each year, in this town you’ll change the direction as you’ll take an off the beaten track through which you’ll appreciate the tranquility of the mountains populated by the nomads of the Atlas. On the way, you’ll keep your eyes open to see a host of mud and bricks constructed Berber villages. You will continue to Ouarzazate where are the largest movie studios or the so-called Hollywood of Africa then You will visit the Ait Ben Haddou village to see an ancient Kasbah ranked by the UNESCO organization, it is one of the world top touristic attractions. Many famous movies were filmed there, where you can stop for lunch ( optional ). Before we continue towards Marrakech .bed and breakfast at. riad Manara.
After breakfast in the riad, you will start exploring Marrakech "the Red City of Morocco”. Your guide will ensure that you see most of the sites with historical and cultural interest -including the famous Jemaa El Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian tombs; the Palace of Bahia and the Ben Youssef Koranic School. After breakfast, you will continue your way toward Essaouira via the Argan Forest where you may see goats climbing trees, before ending in Essaouira around You’ll visit the Skala Fortress, the port, the souks and see Thuya wood carved by artisans, walking through the alleys of the medina and past the hundreds of handicrafts. Essaouira is known for its strong winds most of the year so it is known as the “City of the wind” thus it attracts surfers from all over the world. Essaouira knew many civilizations – including the Portuguese occupation, which affects much of its architecture – however, it remains a small village with much history. Because of its size and its characteristic blue doors and washed walls, it is also regarded as Morocco’s “Jewel of the Atlantics.
