Aït Benhaddou is an "Ighrem" along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech in present-day Morocco. Most citizens attracted by the tourist trade live in more modern dwellings in a village on the other side of the river, although there are four families still living in the ancient village.
Early morning at 7:30 you are invited to travel through the high Atlas mountains in direction south on a windy road named by caravans as « Tizi’n Tichka » with its fascinating panoramas, and colorful landscape, you will enjoy your trip.
Later in the afternoon, you will come to an old village of ancient times, made of adobe used nowadays as a scenario for many famous movies for instance Gladiator, the jewel of the Nile, Babel, and many more. It is an artistic and historical site, declared by the UNESCO heritage. In Ait Ben Haddou the sandcastle a walk to visit is calling to discover the hidden streets and panoramic stops: Later in the way back you will drive back by a small village called Telouet, with another castle of the end of 19th century, it is out of place actually, with its well-decorated rooms, it will leave you mouth open. Later in the late afternoon, you will be dropped at the closest place to your accommodation.
